Default Installing Desktop software on Vista

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to install Desktop Software 4.2.2 and it will not complete on Vista. Has RIM released a Vista friendly version or does anyone have a d/l location?

It takes a while, but I have it working on several Vista PCs. After downloading it, right mouse click on the downloaded executable and select "Run as Administrator". It will still take a while, but it should work.

The DM installed on my Vista machine without problem. Syncing is trouble free with MS Office 2007 and Outlook.

With all the Roxio added stuff, I couldn't get 2.3sp2 to work correctly. After uninstalling Roxio and the DM, I reloaded Roxio on my machine thendownloaded 2.3. Seems to work flawlessly with 2.3.

Desktop Manager (and about half of everything else I installed on my Vista laptop) took forever to install.

Havent run into any trouble installing it on Vista and Im running x64 even.
First time I actually used it was yesterday when I updated the OS on my Curve and had to get BBMaps reworking..
Honestly think it installed just as quickly as any other app ever has and is working just fine. Went right into Program Files(x86) like it should and has no trouble.
I just used it 2 mins ago to unlock all the vendor themes..

I used 4.3 though not 4.2sp2.

Are you guys all administrators on your box? Im a domain admin here so I dont see alot of the problems our regular users have, but then again Im also the only one at work running Vista. I wont let the regular users anywhere near it yet.

I always download the software without the roxio stuff in it and install that it takes way less time, and to be honest i just drag and drop to the memory card anyway, so that roxio is kinda lame in my opinion. It is terribly slow also
