The 8830 will NOT work on AT&T.

It's like asking your AM radio to pick up FM stations.

It won't ever work. The 8830 is a CDMA device. AT&T is a GSM carrier. Two completely different cell phone technologies.

Sorry....you can put it up for sale in our Buy/Sell/Trade forum or eBay it. (or switch to Sprint.)

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Indeed, have had several sprint customers coming in to switch and keep the "world" edition of BB! All of ATTs BB's are world phones but they just didn't get it.

Sell it it will bring a good price on ebay! As long as the ESN is clear!

It will only work on Sprint. Even though Verizon is CDMA and has the 8830, they won't activate a Sprint phone on their network.
