Guys, i have been questioning the blackberry and gmail with you for the past week. Well its getting ridiculous and i am not getting my email everyday now.

I am having the same problems, my gmail stops coming for a few hours and then all at once the emails come in. When i check my outlook or gmail website, there were emails sent at noon that I just got a 1:50!

The blackberry is supposed to have superior email and gmail is supported by blackberry, so what is the problem here.

I have sent my service books, I have registered in the Host Routing Table, I have changed a setting on my outlook to keep email on server! What else can i possible do here?????

This only happened occasionally with my verizon 8830 and now its happening every single day for hours, multiple times a day, with my ATT 8310.

Any info, sugesstions, or advice would be great.

Have you tried deleting the account setup in BIS, waiting a day for the backend RIM systems to scrub it out, then set it back up? I had to do this (with the assistance of a friendly RIM tech) once, and now I get my GMail on my phone *before* it shows up on the web interface refresh (I keep it open in a tab in Firefox at work).

Give it a shot, the worst it can do is not fix anything, right? You could install the GMail/Hosted domain applet for a day and use that instead while waiting for your account to sort of scrub out on their servers. My guess is they have some sort of distributed architecture and it takes time for a delete to make it's way around... (just a guess on my part)

I've been having almost the same problem. Since gmail allows IMAP access now did you setup your blackberry to access gmail via IMAP or are you still using POP. Right after they allowed IMAP access I went and switched and forced my blackberry to use IMAP to talk to the servers and I immediately started seeing the same problem. I switched it back to POP yesterday and boom, I'm starting to get email on my blackberry faster than its showing up in my inbox.
