On my tmo 8320 I cannot get software on it through the device manager, application loader. I select the item to load and always get the same error message; "No additional applications designed for your device were found." The application shows up as having the correct file extension to be able to load. What am I doing wrong? I have no problem synchronizing files between computer and BB and can download things OTA, but I'd like to be able to download over the computer.

Installing Desktop software on Vista

I ended up uninstalling all my roxio software plus all the DM software. I then reinstalled roxio, then downloaded and installed DM 4.3. The only problem I'm having now is a roxio driver issue, which I just haven't taken the time to research and fix. I'm sure I could roll back my driver and be fine. With 4.3 I've been able to install extra apps and themes to my curve.

Are you sure the program is for your device specifically? Some programs are device specific. If you downloaded a version for the 8100 and you are a 8300 it won't load nor work.

For me in answer to that I first loaded the version that came with the phone. when that didn't work, I tried 4.2sp2 download from BB. Neither worked.

The simple solution is to make sure you have the handheld software installed on your computer. The version of the handheld software on your computer must match the handheld software on the device so that Desktop Manager can install additional packages.

Don't attempt to make your Desktop Manager version match your handheld OS version. That will never happen, and is NOT required.

You simply need to load your handheld OS to the PC.

Read the post above yours. Your desktop manager version doesn't need to match device OS version. Load the device OS on your computer and make sure the application you're trying to put on your device will actually work for your device.

okay, how do I actually load the device OS on my computer??....sorry but I'm new to the Blackberry world and am still getting to grips with it.

I only got my Blackberry yesterday and have installed the blackberry desktop manager that is supplied in the box.
I can easily transfer music etc...but when it comes to applications i just keep getting the same error message.

Forget about the Desktop Manager that's on the included disc - DOWNLOAD THE NEWEST VERSION.

Many, many people have reported serious issues with DM 4.3. I disagree with you, but use what works for you.

That has NOTHING to do with the fact that you will need to download and installed the HANDHELD OS to load applications via Applications Loader.

I have an 8330 - you can't download the handheld OS for it yet.

The disc that came with mine had version 4.3.0.15 and I was getting the same errors until I installed the newest Desktop Manager from Telus. The file name was 430_b025_english.exe and once installed the version displays as 4.3.0.17.

No more problems and all of my 3rd party applications installed with no problems.

Again, as was stated in other threads, it depends on the BlackBerry MODEL also.

i have downloaded the appropriate blackberry desktop OS as advised and it has downloaded as a .exe file.
Everytime I try to open it it gives me the error " 'blackberry desktop OS' is not a valid win32 application "
I am running Vista, dont know if this has anything to do with the problem....help would kindly be appreciated
