out of curiosity what does this do (i dont wear hearing aids) i tried turning on the option and didn't notice any difference. |
is it just supposed to minimize the interference between the hearing aid and the bb?
Specifically, a telecoil (t-coil) picks up the sound from the Blackberry via an electromagentic signal and transmits directly through the hearing aid and into the ear through the ear mold. The signal benefits from the processing and amplification programmed for the individual user. It bypasses the microphone on the hearing aid thus eliminating sound from other sources.
Turning on "Hearing Aid Mode" turns on the electromagnetic signal. You can't hear it or feel it. Try turning it on and holding paperclips up to the back. They'll stick.
I am very impressed that the Blackberry 8300 has a telecoil mode. Amazing! (they won't really stick)
