Default Downgrade OS

Please Login to Remove!

I recently upgraded my AT&T BB 8300 to the newest AT&T OS (4.2.2.186)and now my Freedom GPS isn't syncing via the BT and locks up my BT capability on the phone. After pulling the battery, the BT works fine until I try to use the GPS, then the problems start again.

When I got my 8300, I think it had the 4.2.2.89 OS. Does anyone know how I can get a copy of that OS and switch back....and if switching back will solve the problem? Is the OS on the CD's that came with the phone?

Thanks for any suggestions....

Yes, you can downgrade.

First uninstall the new OS from your PC, then use the CD to install the old version. Then follow these instructions (substituting the old version):

You won't find any OS on your CD. You'll need to search the GSM carriers on this list and see if you can find .89.

Thanks John....I'm trying to use it with Google Maps. I found the .89 OS software using the link you posted. Any opinion on if this will likely fix the problem?

FWIW, I deleted the .136 OS and downloaded/reinstalled the .89 OS software using the link John posted. Now the GPS seems to be working normally and it didn't mess up the BT...interesting that the newer OS doesn't appear to work with the GPS on the 8300.

Thanks for everyone's comments.
