Question Need Help Finding a Case That Can Meet My Specific Need Please

Please Login to Remove!

Hi. This is my first post -- I hope this is the right place to post this question.

I got my 8310 on Friday and got a holster clip as a part of the deal I got in on. Problem is there is a magnetic thing that makes it go into what I will refer to as a sleep mode when clicked in. I need to be able to see the face of the BB at all times -- it can go to sleep when clicked in but I have to be able to wake it up without taking it out of the holster. I talk to high school kids for work and most of the classrooms I go into don't have clocks and I have to use my BB to let me know what time it is as I am making the presentation. I also have to easily see if my sons day care calls. They know to only call during the day in an emergency so it is the only call I would stop a presentation for.

I would prefer a hard case to protect the BB and one that offers screen protection that will clip on to my clothing.

I appreciate your help.

I figured that . . . But I was hoping someone could suggest a clip . . . I just got this thing and have no idea where to start. Any suggestions of product and stores to purchase are appreciated.

TSUalum, I remebered a site that my sister in law is getting her case from and here it is.

I hope it works for you, as it's a "holster" form however it's just a removable belt clip. I know it's obviously not the best looking case but I can sincerely say that 3 different BB stores have nothing except magnetic holsters. I suspect though that there's got to be a way to do what you want to do (key(s) to turn on the screen) I just don't know since my curve has yet to arrive. :-D

Don't think you're going to find a decent non-magnetic case.

I'd buy a watch and put your phone on vibrate. One vibe for emails, texts, etc, and two vibes for phone calls. You won't know if it's specifically the daycare but at least you'll know you received a phone call. If you need to glance at your phone all the time to check the time, I assume you can glance at it to see who the call is. After the 2nd vibe, look to see who's calling.

try to remove the magnet from the holster you already have... lol

just a suggestion... if it is one of those clip holsters, it shouldn't be TOO difficult...

I have a 8310 and I ordered a Body Glove case. It has a clear screen cover and the clip can be used when your curve is on your desk to prop it up I thought that was a pretty sweet deal.

PM me and I will direct you to the vendor I used if you like.

In terms of the calling issue, I would set your profile to a specific ring tone or vibration for the school.

Thank you everyone . . . I appreciate the PM with the info on the case and I love the idea of a specific vibration for day care. I picked up Blackberry for Dummies tonight and hope to be more up to speed soon. I hope it can tell me how to set up a distinctive ring
