Default Event Log Takes Up Memory In The Phone

Please Login to Remove!

i was just on the phone with t-mobile they told me something that I decided to share. They said the phone keeps an event log thats saves everything you do , from time it get bigger and bigger and take up more and more space on your phone.
There is a way to disable that by holding ALT and pressing LG LG then hit the menu and go into options then scroll down to alarm and hit menu then select HIDE ALL TYPES then save and your done. and they said its safe to do that

Just thought someone might be interested. thanks

Thanks for the info. There has been a few threads on this. I think the most you get back from the logs is max a few hundred K. I know for some people every bit helps. Thanks for the Info

Thanks for the info indeed.
It's interesting. I always thought hiding a part of the event log did just that: hide it (i.e. filter it so it doesn't appear on the list). I didn't know it actually kept the BB to log further events in that category.

Is there another or quicker way to clear the log on an att/cingular 8310?

I followed those steps on my ATT device and it worked. So I think it is the same across the board. Not quicker, but the same.

I have just confirmed that hiding items does not erase them from the log, nor keeps said items from being logged in the future. The only way to save some space is to manually clear the log from time to time.

That's correct. Hiding them doesn't free up any memory. Clearing them might give you a little. I seldom ever even look at them.
