Default Missed call indicator won't go away

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? I have an 8320, and all of a sudden, my missed call indicator shows 1 missed call. The phone app icon shows the little red star, indicating an unviewed missed call. I have tried to make it go away by clearing the missed call log and the phone call log, pulling the battery, pulling the SIM and the battery all to no avail.

Can anyone help?

Try switching themes. This will sometimes clear it. Also you can go into your messages and hit Alt + P (to show phone logs) and delete them all using delete prior, yank the battery again.

Sorry it didn't work and sorry that I suggested but I didn't see the theme change in the steps listed that you already tried. Bummer, looks like you are stuck with a OS re-load. But wait for others to chime in.

Well, the only solution that worked was to upgrade my OS. No more missed call indicator. Still, it's strange that it even occurred at all. I mean, after I deleted all my call logs, pulled the battery and sim and changed themes, it still remained. Shouldn't take having to upgrade the OS to get rid of a missed call indicator!

Is there still no fix from RIM for this aggravating problem?

I got a BB upgrade at work recently from older one (don't remember model) to this 8820. Not long after I got it I noticed I had this issue of orphaned missed call indicator (2x). I tried everything I've read- theme change, battery pull (from powered on), sim card pull, desktop delete call log and restore. I finally called my IT people as I didn't want to start messing with an OS upgrade (which i'd have gladly done if it were actually mine). After I explained the problem and told them everything I had tried, with no success, they offered to do a "reload". Not sure if this is the right word, but they were able to push this "reload" remotely and all I had to do was initiate the BES activation sequence once it was ready. Missed call icon was now gone (YES!!!!) and after a little while all my contacts and email and such reappeared from the server. And this action didn't even delete all my settings- such as when I switched back to the BB Dimension theme the icons I had previously hidden were still hidden.

Unfortunately, this joy was short-lived. After not more than a month or so, this weekend I left the BB in the car and missed some calls, somehow I ended up with a stuck "1Xphone" missed call again. CRAP!!!!!! This is obviously a prevelant problem, why doesn't RIM fix this software bug??? Aggravating POS.
