Default Email Reconciliation Problem

Please Login to Remove!

I am on a BES. I am having a strange issue with Email Reconciliation. Changes I make in Outlook (such as opening an item in the Inbox or deleting it -not Shift-Deleting) do not reconcile on the Blackberry. However, it does work the other way. In other words, items deleted on the BB or opened on the BB, get deleted in Outlook or show up as opened in Outlook. Also, all Contacts and Calendar items synch normally. I have checked all the folder redirection settings and everything is set correctly. Wireless email reconciliation is on.
Anyone have any ideas.

Can nobody offer any advice? I tried a new enterprise activation and that did not fix it either. It seems to me this is on the BES side (I use Mailstreet). Anyone else having this issue?

Have you talked to mailstreet? That would be the first place I'd go.

I just searched the topic of "Reconcile Now" and found your post. I too am having the exact same problem and it happens sporadically to the point where I cannot figure out what might be in common with all the times it is happening. At this point, I can only speculate that I am logging off my laptop immediately after making changes in Outlook, like moving messages from the server Inbox to the PST Inbox, and then Outlook doesn't have enough time to properly synchronize with the Exchange server Inbox. Other than that, I also spoke with my BES Admin and had no suggestions. FWIW, I'm Verizon, 8703e, OS 4.2.1.106

If you move an item to a PST, then it will NOT synchronize. Moving to a PST is similar to Shift-deleting an item, where it does not go into the Inbox. The Item has to be "seen" in the Deleted Items folder when the BB reconciles on order to be deleted on the BB. If you are moving items to a PST, or Shift-Deleting, then they will not reconcile. (It is my understanding that there is a way to enable reconciliation of Hard Deletes on the BES, but I am not sure if any Exchange providers have enabled it).

What are your Email Reconciliation settings on your Blackberry?

Mine are set to:

Delete On: Handheld
Wireless Reconciliation: On
On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins

Mine works how you are looking for yours to work. If your settings match mine then it is either another setting somewhere else or something in the BES for your account. Have you asked someone else you work with if this works for them?

Have you checked your settings in Desktop Manager? Under Synchronize there are some settings that can affect this. If you check the Configure Reconciliation section under Configuration Tab make sure that Synchronize moves and deletes is selected, otherwise what you're seeing would result.

Let me know if this helps.

My settings are almost identical, both in my BB & in Desktop Manager, except on my BB I have Delete On set to "Mailbox & Handheld"
