Welcome to BB Forums.

Check out our FAQ section in Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ - this is a very commonly asked question, and it even has its own page at Application Loader Error - BlackBerryFAQ

Good luck and welcome!

You didn't follow the instructions - sorry to be so blunt.

You must download the HANDHELD OS onto your PC. Here are the steps:

- shut down Desktop Manager
- locate and download the HANDHELD OS for the 8300 - it is stickied at the top of the 8300 forum
- execute the file you just downloaded to install the Handheld OS onto your PC
- locate and delete VENDOR.XML on your PC C: drive
- connect the BB and restart Desktop Manager

And don't cry. It really works.

Hi, I'm holding a 8320 with OS v4.2.2.181 (Platform 2.5.0.35). I've installed Desktop Manager v4.3. When I connect via USB, the Desktop Manager showed Device Connected, even showed the correct PIN number. BUT, an error message appears: "Failed to connect to the device. Please make sure the device is properly connected and try again." When I launch the Media Manager, my 8320 is not detected at all. ANY HELP WILL BE MOST APPRECIATED, I have been scratching my head for 10 days now......painful.

Welcome to BlackBerry Forums. In the future, may I suggest starting a new thread (on your new topic) rather than adding to a totally different topic.

For you issue, may I suggest totally removing Desktop Manager v4.3, and installing v4.2.2, which is much more stable.

Thanks a lot Mr. NJBlackBerry. I'll try out your advise and I'll start a new thread in the future.
