For the edge problem, pull the battery and see if that will fix it.
For the email issue, call T-Mo. Make sure you have the BB (BIS) Plan provisioned with your PIN and IMEI. Have them send the service books. You shoudl receive an activation message on your BB once that is complete. Then look for the email set up. Or better yet, get the BIS site info from the CSR, including the username and password and do it on the web via your PC. Much easier that way I think.
