Default Outlook Categories Don't Sync w/ BB Address Book - 12-10-2007, 01:41 PM

I've made a ton of changes in my address book, both from the Outlook side and from the BB side. Sync has worked perfectly except in one area.

I made a bunch of changes in my categories in Outlook, but these changes aren't being reflected when I look at the categories in my BB Address Book. I've tried setting my Sync so that "Outlook wins" but that didn't do anything.

Can someone please help me figure out why my categories aren't syncing? Thanks.

Mine works with Outlook 2003 running through a BES. I tried it in both directions and it works.

OK. ALL the other fields in mine sync perfectly except for categories. Any one have any idea why?

I finally just went ahead and did this manually. I did come across something about doing a Selective Backup & Restore and clearing the Address Book on the BB. I did this and the extra categories were still on the BB.

Then I happened to be looking and see that Categories are in a different database than the Address Book. Since this is apparently the case, how is sync controlled for the Category database? Does the category database sync every time the BB is sync'd?

When I added categories to my contacts it took about a minute or so to wirelessly sync.

If you create a test contact does it sync wirelessly to your BB? What about creating a test contact with a category, does everything sync?

I'm on BIS, not BES, so I don't have wireless sync.
