Default Dial from Home Screen - First Keystroke only takes me to Phone Menu

Please Login to Remove!

I got my blackberry a few weeks ago, and until today, if I was on the home screen, i could dial a single number (say "1") and it would both switch me to the phone screen, and dial the "1". Today it stopped doing that. So when I dial the first number from the home screen, it just takes me to the phone screen and does nothing. After that I can dial, but I have no idea what changed.

Frankly I'm a little worried, because my first blackberry crashed within 4 days and I had to exchange it for the current one. So I'm not exactly impressed with the robustness of the system. I'm hoping someone can tell me if there's a setting I messed with.

And for your reference, the option for Dial from Home Screen is set to "Yes".

Thanks,
Rob

Welcome to the Forums.

At your Phone Dial screen > Options > General Optionss > Dial from Homescreen, make sure it is set to YES.

If it is, simply pull the battery while the BB is powered on, and replace, let it reboot, and see if all is fine.
