Heh, this thread has peaked my interest. How does one change their track ball mechanism. Is their some sort of instructional on this. If a lay person can do this I too would like to convert over to the Pearl trackball becasue I find the ball on my curve irritating becasue it is so hard.
One last question John, do you agree with the post that the pearl trackball is softer and better than the curve trackball. Would you make this change as I really value your opinion
The older Pearls were smoother rolling. The newer devices are rougher when rolling. i think it's just the rollers. The trackballs had trouble with debris getting lodged between the ball and the rollers and the cursor wouldn't move in one direction. I think that's why they change the trackball to the way it is now.
Again thanks John. My roller is fine and my ball glides smoothly. My problem is that pushung in my trackball is a little stiff and pricks my thumb somewhat. But I think over time that stiffness will leave with wear and breaking in. I guess since my roller and glide of the ball is fine perhaps I should leave well enough alone.
