Default LED indicator - 12-11-2007, 05:32 PM

I have noticed that when I have unread messages the flashing red LED is not infinite. It lasts for a unknown amout of time but not forever ( until I read the messages) Is there a setting I'm missing? Also, are there any applications that change the color of the LED for the different type of messages?

You're not missing anything. That's how it works.
It's a NEW message indicator, not an unread message indicator. After a period of time, the message isn't new anymore, regardless of its unread status.

There might be third-party apps to change the LED colors for specific events.
Check the aftermarket software area.

The flashing lasts about 20 minutes depending on the OS. I've noticed on newer OS's it's less than that.

Do a search on the forums for BBAlerts. It'll do what you're asking.

I timed the red LED indicator on my BB -- it lasted 10 minutes.
