I had a Pearl for a little over a year, and I loved it. I loved all its features and programs. I understood why they call them "Crackberries."
Two weeks ago it had broken, so I went on a search for a new phone, because I am one of those people who cant have the same phone twice, lol.
I found the new Sidekick LX aesthetically pleasing, and they had it in my favorite color, so my husband coaxed me into it as a birthday gift.
I had heard about the Curve, and thought about getting it, but the Sidekick LX had all the flashy lights so I couldn't resist.
After about a day or so, I was really starting to miss my Blackberry Pearl. A week passes, and I went on the T-mobile site, to "browse" around the phones. The sidekick is designed for kids, I noticed. The only thing you can do on that phone is go on myspace and buy ringtones. It's a cute phone, but I wasn't loving it.
So, yesterday morning, I stopped at the T-mobile store and traded the LX for the Curve. It was the last day I could trade it in, and I am so happy I went into that store! I would have been stuck with a 375 dollar sidekick that I didnt like!
I loved the Curve from the moment they handed it to me, and I am so happy now. It's been over 24 hours and I cant stop playing with the thing! It's so nice to have the familiarity of the Blackberry programs and the feel of it reminds me of the Pearl but better

Good move! and Great choice!! I've had a blackberry curve on AT&T since it was first released and I've loved it! Mind you it was my first blackberry and I kept bouncing from smartphone to smartphone. I had a Nokia E62, the went to a Palm Tre0 750, and finally stuck with the curve.

My only problem now is that I am eligible for an upgrade, and I can get a new 8310 absolutely free through AT&T premier with that upgrade, but I also would like to wait around for early 08 and see if something more worthwhile is released by RIM where I can make good use of my upgrade.

I noticed you're listed as residing in Miami...what part of Miami? Congrats again!

I like to keep up with the "new" but I've settled down with the Curve.

I periodically try something new but invariably come running back to Blackberrys. Seems like every day Blackberrys get more and more features, third-party apps, and consumer-oriented (non-business user) functionality, all to go along with their legendary reliability and business savvy. The platform is definitely on the upswing. It's not just for business anymore.

Yea, I too got started with the Pearl and moved on to the Curve after the wishes of my wife. We actually paid retail for them as it was too late to trade the Pearls in. Still, well worth the price IMO. I've been hooked ever since!

I know exactly how you feel...I had the same situation w/ the iPhone....I mean, i Love Apple products, and swear by their computing platforms and their software....but the iPhone...idk, I just couldn't leave blackberry, on the VERY last day, I paid the restock fee and got myself a curve.....

I couldn't imagine life without blackberry...it really is the center of the universe

Ugh! So I gave in and ordered the 8310 thru at&t premier. Got it absolutely free! Now, I'll keep the 8300 as a back up device if I dont end up selling it.

Yes I fall in love with Curve from ATT I used to had Sidekick 1 and 2 and 3 for 4 year. It for deaf friendly user till I heard about Curve and I did research on Curve for a while till my sidekick 3 broke down and their coverage is sucks where I alway on travel alot to KY. So I decide to go ahead and buy Curve from ATT and never again from TMOBILE. and I already fall in love with Curve and it work very great and their coverage is much greater better than Tmobile. I can able to download alot program and work great for Deaf coummity too. For deaf people I suggest buy Curve 8300 or 8310 or 8320 at ATT WIRELESS but not from tmobile if you heavy user. My girlfriend got that too and she love it too

Congrats! I just bought a Curve too. I had a Blackberry 8700 before which I liked very much, but after reading up on the net I decided to switch to a Curve. And I'm so loving it, the camera and media player are a great bonus. The only thing missing is software for word files

I'm in the middle of my 2 year agreement with At&t, and they have offered me an upgrade now for a net of $200, and an extension of my agreement 2 more years. I have no issues to the carrier, so the contract is not an issue for me, and the $200 seems like a decent enough deal for being in-contact time, but what will At&t ultimately offer me when the contact is up 11 months from now? Do I have to be a Premier Customer to get that free offer? How do you become a Premier Customer, do you have a corporate account?
