Default Just an FWI...BB8320 and Ford SYNC!!

Please Login to Remove!

Just to let everyone knows who might want to know... I just purchased a 2008 Ford Edge Limited and it comes with the Sync feature that you see on the TV commercials with the whole "Play Aerosmith...Play Korn...etc." Well it also works amazingly with the Blackberry 8320... I just hit one button and say call whom ever I want and it does...it automatically sync's my Phonebook...my Recieved calls,Missed Calls, and Dialed calls... it reads me my Text messages and shows them on the Nav screen... it shows your phone tower signal and battery life also. as soon as I get in my car it switches the phone call over to the speaker system...and when I turn the car off it switches the call back to my BB8320 seamlessly with no interuption!!!
I am saying this due to the fact if you go to Fords Sync site...it does not list that it is compatible with the 83XX series....but it does everything it is supposed to with the 8320!

Pinman,

Can you help me!

I have also just gotten a new 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac with Sync. I had an 8800 and researched to find out that the 8800 did not support A2DP/AV X-fer need to run all the features for Sync. So ... I bought a 8310. I can get the audio to stream thru bluetooth but no Text Message support. I have also tried Telenav thinking the voice commands would also transfer thru bluetooth. Nope!!

I see you use T-Mobile and I use AT&T ... could the provider be blocking this or have i toggled something off?

Every else works great with Sync, IPOD ... Line in and USB. I only wist the text message feature and the GPS voice streaming would work.

Any suggestions??

Thanks!

I also have a curve that I use with Ford's sync, everything works great, but it states that it does not support my phone for the text messaging features...How does it work for you? I also have a Nav...

I use the 8800 (Rogers) v4.2.1.108 in my '08 Lincoln MKX and have the following working with SYNC:
- Phone
- Address Book

Bluetooth music transfer and text message read back are not working.

The poster said he was able to do it with a 8320 which is a Curve. Technically a 88xx series is different due to its OS. Maybe if RIM upgrades their OS or Firmware for the 88xx, then SYNC will work more completely.

Question Ford Edge and using BB 8800

Just reading the notes below...I cannot get my bb to work with my edge!

I changed bb's just prior to getting the vehicle and won't be eligible for an upgrade for quite some time.

Can anyone provide me with some help on how to get this sync thing working??
