Default Instant Messaging Usage

Please Login to Remove!

I'm brand new to the blackberry community .Would anyone know when you use the instant messaging feature on the curve ( T mobile ) are your using data usages or are you using text messaging usages. I had a problem when I was at Sprint. Whenever I would sign into the Instant Messaging I would be charge text messaging usages for every IM.

If you use JiveTalk, you're safe from SMS charges (it uses data) and "is gentle on your battery..." here's your coupon to get $5 off PNSTKHOL (thanks to bridgecard)

Most IM applications use data, not SMS/text.

You didn't name a specific IM application, so it is hard to say about one specific. The OZ program did use SMS at one time.

If you IM much get a good application like JiveTalk.

Welcome to the BB Forums.

On T-Mobile with the new Curve 8320, if you use the built-in IM applications for AIM, Yahoo, etc, it is included as part of your data plan and does not charge you for each message. The 8100 Pearl, though, charged each IM message as an SMS text message, or .10 cents per message sent/received.

Does anyone want a device-transferrable license for Jivetalk cheap? I don't think I need it anymore now that I have the Curve. PM/email me.

This is not the place to sell that. We have a Buy Sell section.
Does JiveTalk allow transfer of the license?
