You need to call ATT and order a data plan.

You need to have a Blackberry Data Plan (not a regular smart phone data plan) and you need to send your service books to your Blackberry. On AT&T you do this by registering your BB with the network: Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table, then hit the Menu button and select Register Now. Your service books should be pushed to your Blackberry. At T-Mobile we have to log into our BIS account online and select the option to "Send Service Books". AT&T's way is better.

By the way, I assumed you were an ATT customer. I recommend calling them if you are. The plan I have is 5 dollars more a month on the ATT website. Once you get it. I recommend spending a lot of time on this site. The people on here are very helpful and know their Berries.

Log into the ATT website. See what your data plan is called.

If they updated your plan it should be there. It takes a while for the phone to change. I have even had to change it myself.

What "plan" did they set you up with. A regular Data Plan will not do it. You need a Blackberry data plan. If you did get one then go to the bis website at: BlackBerry Internet Service and follow the instructions on setting up your device email address. Then send the service books and THEN you will get your Internet Icon.

I suspect the same thing as you. You get one of those good customer service reps in a phone store that has no idea what a Blackberry Data Plan is. I assumed mine would work with a regular data plan.
