Are you getting an error message or is it just not showing a change?

Then go into your Address Book, find the contact for the person who you just changed the setting on above. Select that contact, then press the Menu key and select Edit. Press the Menu key again and select Add Custom Phone Tune if it's there. If it's not there, the option is already set up for that contact. Scroll to the bottom of the contact information and set the Custom Phone Tune to Mute. Save the contact and exit out to the main screen.

Then perform a battery pull with the device powered on to reset it. It won't work until you do a battery pull.

You see, when there is an incoming call the phone has to decide what ringtone to play. If there is a conflict between the myFaves display and the Address Book the Address Book usually wins.

Also you need to make sure to set any and all contact entries in the Address Book to Mute if you have more than one entry for the same phone number.

Something else to check is to go to the Profiles (the speaker icon) and select Advanced at the bottom of the list. Make sure the Use Active Profile Except For: option has both boxes unchecked.

Just wanted to give my 2 cents about this process you mentioned here...I have both the MyFave contact and address book custom Phone Tune set to the same ringtone and I did not do a battery pull. It worked fine fo me and that ringtone I chose plays when either the MyFave contact number or the other number I have programed under that name calls me.

*side note: Does anyone know if the ringtones for the 8320 Curve have to be mono or will it except stereo also for a better sound?

Thanks.
