Default curve 8320 bluetooth pairing problem

Please Login to Remove!

I'm having trouble with my built in bluetooth on my laptop.

When I activate the bluetooth and try to pair it with my blackberry curve (8320), i'm only getting the Stereo Audio Player and Telephony Audio Gateway profiles as active services.

I'm unable to get it to show my curve as a modem, dun, or com port. I really want to tether wirelessly.

I'm using vista ultimate 64bit and my laptop bluetooth drivers are up to date as well.

What can I do to rectify this problem?

Have you done a search for Bluetooth and Vista, The up to date drivers are probably what is causin your problem. You need to use the generic bluetooth drivers for your laptop not the ones provided by the manufacturer.

sadly, i am using the generic bluetooth drivers. my laptop came with the hp drivers, and i did a clean install of vista onto my laptop and get the most updated drivers from each manufacture installed onto my laptop.

It still wouldn't make sense why I would still be able to see what i assume are the AD2P profile, and headset profile on my phone and not the dun and com port profiles.

You need to use the BT Widcomm Stack to fix your problem.

silly me...had a friend who had the same laptop...i needed to have disable the native vista drivers located in the INF folder inside the c:/windows folder

THEN reload using HP's drivers, which is a specially formulated BT Widcomm Stack for the built in bluetooth module

this whole time I thought I was installing the drivers correctly, never occurred to me to disable the vista bt drivers which i thought were the manufacture drivers
