Question Help! How do I remove the "Instant Messaging" folder from the menu?

Please Login to Remove!

I tried searching for info on this, but couldn't find anything.

I don't use any of the Curve's IM apps, and have deleted them all, but it seems impossible to be able to delete the "Instant Messaging" folder permanently. (Well, I can delete it just fine, but it always shows up again on the next reboot.) I mean, I don't even care if I can't delete the folder, I just want to be able to hide it. Why won't my BB let me do this?! AHH!!!

How do I get rid of it for good??

the trick i used is to NOT delete it, but to mark it hidden... if you do this you cannot more the folder, rename the folder, OR place anything into the folder... i have yet to see it show back up since i deleted it, and if i select "show all" it is still there...

This doesn't work! :(

There is no option to hide the folder, and again, like I said, although I *can* delete the folder, it always shows up after the next reboot. I realize this isn't that big of a deal, but it annoys me and I would like to get rid of this stupid folder once and for all!

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

P.S. I'm running 4.2.2.180

i'm running the same OS... hhhmmm, i wonder if it is theme dependent?

I use the T-Mobile Zen theme (yellow NOT pink)...

give that a whirl but, I guess its worthless if you don't want to use that theme...

I have checked and it depends on the theme. I use the T-Mobile theme and it is there. I have found no way to delete/hide this folder from the blackberry or through desktop manager. If you switch to one of the other themes the folder is not there. Back to Google to search some more since I hate unwanted icons/folders. Are we sure this isn't a Windows product???
