Default How do i seperate emails and text messages?

Please Login to Remove!

When i first got my curve i did not set up my email. On my home screen i had email messages and text messages as 2 seperate options. When i setup my email on my BB my emails appear in both areas. In the messaging they are mixed in with text messages and they also appear in the email section. How do i fix this to get some order back.

Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I bet this is all over the search function.

Go to:

- Messages
- Menu
- Options
- General Options
- SMS and E-mail Inboxes = Separate

No, there is not a way to do that with the Messages folder. The only way you could do that is the actually open the SMS Messages icon that is created when you separate them from the Messages folder.

I'm using a theme where it has a messages icon on the home screen and that is for email. What I would like it to have a message icon for emails and another one for sms so I dont have to go to the application list.

Is this possible or I have to create my own theme?

Thanks.

There are a lot of themes, mostly the Zen ones, that have separate icons for email and MMS/SMS. It's on a case-by-case basis, but most of the Zen themes will have it.

OK I searched and found it. I am using the zen theme and the 5 icons on the home screen are just the first 5 icons on the applications screen. You can move apps in that screen by holding alt and clicking the wheel. then select move and put the icon where you want it and click again.

Some themes come with the mms and sms icon that i liked. Im just going to use a theme that already has it. I dont know if i can add it to another theme . Im still a noobie

In my mind this is the BEST Theme out there now [L Dimension ]! Well worth the $5 I paid for it.

I don't have dial from home turned on, so I utilize all the home screen shortcuts and this theme gives me enough real estate to utilize the other programs I need. The only caveat for now is that I'm tieing up 2 "map" programs because I'm still seeing if I like Telenav or not, G-Maps is what I'm used to, but there's always room for change!

That theme looks great thanks. I got google maps but cant get it to give me intelligent routes. It routed me plenty of extra miles for my trip back to school and added 2 hours. I cant find a shortest route button. I dont want to pay for telenav. hopefully i can find something better.

Ok So I went back with the Zen theme and moved all the icons which is cool. I'd like more icons at the bottom of the screen. Does that mean I have to create my own theme?

Also, in the Zen theme, if there is a calender icon it doesn't show what my upcoming appointments are. Any way to fix this?

You should be able to use telenav FOC [free of charge], you just won't get the premium service [verbal directions and stuff]. I use it without GPS and it doesn't cost me a dime.

FWIW, I won't pay for it any-who because the Navi in my car far outweighs the Telenav. I mainly use a maps programs when I'm being driven, like recently when I was in Cali and the cabby had no clue how to get me to my hotel. I brought up the directions to get us there and he didn't even give me a discount .

i have a question. i have the 8130 and did the steps listed above and all works fine. but today after replying to emails i have found out that my emails are getting all goofy if i have set up this way? its changing what i type to symbols basically?

so do i need to change something else on the phone or under email settings? i want to make sure that my text messages will go to its own inbox and i want my email to go to its own. when i start my new job i want my work email to have its own inbox also. is this possible or am i wanting too much? even if i had one for my personal email and text and the other was for work i would be okay with that. i just dont want my personal and text messages lost in all my work emails if that makes sense.

thank you!

Telenav is only Free for the first 30 days only it states. Is there another option to continue to get it free after the 30 days are up?
