Default Making ringtones .mp3 .wavs for curve (problems)

Please Login to Remove!

What programs are people using to cut up mp3 files to make ringtones and songs for the curve?

I tried saving an .mp3 attachment from an e-mail on my curve and it has issues.

I made a .wav with some simple programs, but the quality sounds bad through the curve, even though it sounds perfect on my PC.

I'm just trying to make some text alert sounds, ringtones, and add songs.

WIll be picking up microSD card today to use desktop manager a bit more.

Any tutorials out there for doing this stuff with the Curve?

I use a program called Audacity, which is free. I don't have a tutorial or anything. I don't know if the sound will be as crisp as it is on the computer because the speaker on the BlackBerry won't be as good as your computer speakers.

Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I too use Audacity, easy enough program to figure out and works well for the multiple various phones we have in this household.

You need to mess around with the sound output levels to get it to sound just right on the phone. I've found if you don't it sounds distorted even on the lowest volume settings.

I'm also remembering in order to import / export as .MP3 you need a plug in for Audacity. Google it and you'll find what you need.

Good luck.
