Default I can't view picture messages T-Mobile/8320 - 12-28-2007, 11:02 PM

I just got the 8320 on xmas and I am finally able to send/receive picture messages, I sent one to myself and was able to view it just fine. Sent one to my mom and she was able to view it also.

When I sent one to myself using her phone or when I get them from other friends, I am not able to see the picture at all. at the top it says class: personal then when it was sent , who sent it and subject. but where the image is supposed to be it is just blank.

I did a search and was not able to find an answer hopefully someone here has one. thanks!

Many threads about this here. MMS is unreliable on the BlackBerry in general. There is no real fix to this issue. You will get some and not others.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

It seems to be more of a problem with T-Mobile. Try pulling the battery for about 10 seconds and then try again.

I have problems with MMS messages all the time on my TMO 8320. I also get the "can not receive content" or whatever the hell it says when I get a MMS. I always have to click "retrieve now" a few times just to get the MMS. Eventually it will come through. I don't see why there is so many problems though. I am almost always on UMA so the MMS should come through instantly but it doesn't. I just live with it. I always click the "retrieve now" thing and eventually it comes through.

If you call T-Mo BB support, have them check in the MMSC Provisioning tool that your phone is set to MMS phone and not Legacy, and also set as 'blackberry' and not 'other'

On your phone, you can set MMS retrieve to Always and not home network only. (options-MMS)

If all that is good on T-Mo side, it's not a network issue

I believe it's due to T-Mobile attempting to filter MMS content. I don't know if they're worried about network traffic or suitability of content, but it sucks. Hard.

I have an 8100 and the same problem. It's a network issue for sure. Upgrading the OS will not fix it (been there). If I'm in a full signal strength area I get them. If not it's spotty. It's gotten better where I live than it was 6 months ago.
