Default Bluetooth headset and voice dial

Please Login to Remove!

I recently got my first Blackberry from T-Mobile. It's the 8320 Curve. I have paired it with a Plantronics 510 Bluetooth headset. I can initiate voice dial from the Blackberry.

However, I would like to initiate voice dial by pressing the connect button on the Bluetooth headset. Is this supposed to work?

I can't find a definite answer anywhere. Is there some setting on the phone I need to change? Or could it be just the headset? Can anyone confirm that you can do this?

Thanks,

Yeah, what he said. D'ja try reading the headset's quickstart guide?

My plantronics 655 goes like this.

Power On
Maybe quick press to pair/connect (if idle for long)
1-2 second press & hold to get low tone for VAD

Good luck.

Default I think I know what you are talking about

I have a Curve through AT&T and a Moto bluetooth. I cannot connect with my voicedial through the headset either. I took back one Curve after the AT&T rep said that he contacted blackberry and that the "know of the issue are are seeking ways to fix it." I guess we are stuck in the meantime.

i use voicedialing all the time on my bluetooth. plantronics discovery 640, bluespoon spider, motorola H500, H300, and several others i forgot the designations for, and its the same for all of them. Hold for 5+ seconds to turn on or off. Press once to connect to the phone. Press and hold for 2-3 seconds or press twice rapidly to activate VAD

I lost the manual a long time ago. The fact is I've never used voice dial from the headset because my last phone was a Treo which definitely doesn't do it. That was so disappointing and this is such a relief!

The BB is head and shoulders above the Treo! Thanks all!
