Default SMS will not Dissapear from main screen

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, Im a new blackberry 8310 user in the UK.

On the main screen im usnig the default theme. For some reason, it shows 1 sms underneath 'text media messages' that I have deleted. I have received sms messages since then, but its always showing that message. I have deleted, marked as unread, then read it again and deleted to no avail.

It's making me annoyed because its always there on teh screen. No alerts are on teh top bar to tell me its a new message, so im not sure what the problem is. I have looked on the main blackberry site for help, but nothing.

Please help, is it a problem with the actual device and if so, can it be resolved?

Thanks

James

Have you checked your "saved messages?"

It is an odd occurrence because if you check the SMS folder, there are no messages in there, but the message still displays on the Today display.

I get this "phantom SMS" problem occasionally, and what I usually do is scroll up to the date and select "Mark Prior Read", this clears it from the Today screen. Sometimes this doesn't work out and I have to open the "deleted" message (from the Today screen), mark it as unread, then mark it as read again.

Happens about once or twice a month, I'd say.

This has been a bug with all today themes since they were first released. The only solution is a good ole' fashion battery pull
