So I have the blackberry 8320, with bb plan. I am trying to install opera mini but I'm having difficulties with it. The installation screen stops at "failed to connect." I know that most will offer the advice of using the search button in this forum.

The problem is that I did, but I have some questions as to the wap.voicestream settings in the TCP settings. What does that actually do? And if I was to ever cancel my bb plan and go for wifi only would it affect the wifi as in tmobile charging me. Thanks alot.

I am also confused about AIM that came with the Blackberry, that uses data and since I have bb plan unlimited, I can use the AIM for free without text messages charges, correct? Thanks

The wap.voicestream.com is the default APN set up for every T-Mobile account. When you add other data services to your T-Mobile plan other APN's are then added to allow access based on your data plan.

Accessing the Internet via Wi-Fi would not incur any charges from your carrier since you are not even touching the T-Mobile network. You are accessing the Internet through the wireless connection and the Internet connection that wireless network is connected to.

The IM clients that come default on the Curve do not use SMS messaging but regular data so you'll need the data plan which you said you have. So don't worry, unlimited data means unlimited IM'ing from your T-Mobile 8320 with the default IM clients.
