Idiot question of the day - WITHOUT putting the "Keyboard lock" icon on the Home Screen, is there a way I can lock the keyboard on my BlackBerry 8300 Curve?

I currently have the "Keyboard lock" on the Home Screen for quick access, but if there's a short-cut to lock the keyboard, then I can replace the "Keyboard lock" icon on my Home Screen with something else...

there are many ways to do it. you can set one of the soft keys on the side to do it, you can put it on the home screen, i think if you disable dial from home screen its L (someone will have to correct me on that) \

Actually L is the calendar... K is key lock.. I always preferred standby mode (hold the mute button) over key lock but that's just me...

oh man shortcuts like the K to lock, get me excited 'cause I get to post the link to all the homescreen shortcuts at the FAQ site...

What??? There is a standby mode???

Never tried ANY of those shortcuts, I guess I was using a stupid way if you want an additional shortcut...ALT then Enter (doesn't have to be pushed at the same time, just sequentially).

Alt+enter will also change your default language input if you don't have it disabled... be careful using that one.

You can use the key lock app that is for the pearl. I use it and it works great .. I just transfered it from my pearl to my curve.. ( thats only if you had the pearl before u got the curve )

Right, I forgot about that one, the way I did it was it switched my languages, I switched it back then disabled the feature. However, I set the side button to lock and realized that was a lot quicker and then I started using the Standy mode and realized since I keep my BB in my pocket I should use that one at all times!
