Pictures on home screen of BB

I noticed that any picture that I have on my computer from my digital camera that I transfer to my phone or media card through Media Manager, that when I apply it as my home screen image, I get excess space at the top and bottom of the picture. When I take a picture with my camera on the phone or use a pre-set picture, the picture takes up the entire space. It looks dumb with a strip of white at the top and bottom of the home screen picture. I have tried numerous photos and always get the same results. Anu suggestions?

You need to format the picture to the size of your screen natively. For the 8700, 8800, and 8300 series phones, the native resolution is 320x240. For the 8100 series it is 260x240 (I believe). Use your computer to format the picture to those sizes or download wallpapers at that resolution for your phone and they should fit perfectly.

Thanks for the reply. I think I actually just figured it out before I read your reply though. If I go into picture on my bb then select "zoom 1.1" then set it as my home screen image it works perfect :)

Crop your original image to 4:3 aspect ratio to match the 320x240 resolution of the BB's display.

I tried this, but it still did not work. Any thoughts?

What theme are you using? Some themes put space at the bottom and top by default and don't really let you choose a wallpaper, like the ATT theme does this.

Zoom 1:1 works too though if you don't have the att theme.
