So I have been reading some reviews about Telenav (I am on the trial) and have read that using the phone function is nearly impossible. Now I know that you can't use data & voice (without 3G) at the same time, but GPS uses a different signal. I expect it to not be able to pull maps, but I would expect it to be able to catch up with itself if I am on the phone and I would hope it can follow my course. I will be driving for 2 hours in a place I have never been and I may be making frequent phone calls. It is absolutely crucial that I don't lose my trip simply because I call someone or vice versa. What are the issues with using Telenav and the phone app? Are there any feasible solutions? Other apps?

I have found the the voice quality is diminished when TeleNav is running in the background. If I must take the call, I'll use the Application Switch tool, close out TeleNav, and then return to my call. It's lame, in my opinion, that TeleNav doesn't automatically suspend itself and then let you resume after the call. If I remember right, previous versions did allow for this.

To answer the rest of your question, after you end your call, go back into TeleNav and the location that you had found directions to will be in your Recent list and you can get directions from your current location.
