Post TrackBall Sinking

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all. My 8310 is only 3 months old. I have recently noticed that the trackball feels like it is sinking into the device. There isn't much tension when I press to click the trackball. However, it still works. Has anyone had a similar problem, and what to do about it? Thanks.

If you are still within the warranty period I would return the device. I think that this does happen over time. It has to do with the contact below the trackball assembly, it is copper in color and kinda looks like a spoon, It springs up and down and when it's fully depressed it performs the enter function. The contact get's bent down through use. You can try to GENTLY pry it up a little if you remove the trackball assembly. I would do this ONLY when the battery is out of the device.

Good luck but as I said if you can swap it then by all means this is your best route!

I had the same problem. The only difference is my trackball stopped responding when I would push it. It moved around...but, I just couldn't select anything with it. I called t-mo Friday morning, and they send me another phone out under the 1yr warranty thing that they have. I just got it today. I'm not sure if it's new or refurbished...but it looks brand new.
