Default Media Manager very sketchy...

Please Login to Remove!

So I recently installed the Desktop Manager on my computer, but the media manager seems to be very sketchy. It takes a while to load and when it finally loads up, I try to make an action, and it freezes up. Any ideas?

What version of DM did you install? Version 4.3 has been reported as buggy, and most people downgrade to version 4.2.2.....

delete it , don't it. You don't really need it.

Manage you media transfer with Mass Storage enabled on your media card, and get Audacity (free) for any editing of music and ringtones.

I can't manage my media using a micro SD card considering I do not have one yet. I just want to put a sample song on there to see how it sounds. But okay, I will get a micro SD card ASAP. So is it likely I can get my BB to support an 8gb? Phonescoop says that it holds 4gb but then it says that it will hold more when bigger cards are available.

And by the way, I love this forum, everyone replies ridiculously fast.

It depends on the OS that is installed on your device:

microSD Capacity Support

We respond so quick since we don't have lives.

it will not hold larger now... it is according to the OS, not the model number.

BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4GB

Yes, I already knew that it has to do with the OS. However I have heard of people formatting their micro SD cards to get them to work with a lower OS. Is that true?

If you get an 8gb now, you should be able to format it for 4gb ON your BB.

Then perhaps when the higher OS is available, you can reformat for the larger.

I would not promise it, but it should work that way.

However, for the price, if you want to wait for the OS to be available, get a $20 2gb now, and by the time the new OS comes around the 6-8 gb cards will be down to a decent price... my opinion.

Well sure, another media card will work, but it will only USE the amount that the OS will allow.

If I put an 8G card in my 8830, I will only get to use 4G.

Maybe I will be safe and just go with a 4gb. :P

Also, can you text people by just knowing there pin? What is the point of having the pin so other people can see it?

first, PIN messaging is not "texting" like one does on most phone, but very very similar, yes.

Some people post their PIN here , so people can PIN them, send them a PIN message. Yes, just by knowing your PIN, I can send you a message.

Do you want a PIN message?

No, people only know your PIN number and not any other information about you.

Yes, the Green Bay Packers. JS knows I'm a cheesehead and is rubbing in their loss to the Giants. He's off my Christmas card list.

Heh... Hello neighbor. I am from Minnesota and I am a die hard Vikings fan. I was a little disappointed about their season this year after they were looking so good for a while. But there is always next season. I very much admire Favre and everything he has accomplished.
