Default HC Micro SD Cards - 01-26-2008, 03:18 AM

Hi,
Does anyone know if the BB 8300 is compatible with a high capacity micro SD card? I am looking at getting a 4gb card to hold (some) of my music . . . has anyone tried this or knows of compatibility?

Cheers,

mfubib

the 4gb card is the max currently supported by the 8300 software, but yes, it will work.

I've been using 4 GB micro SD card for the last three months. It works great. It's not clear however if 83XX would support 8 GB card at this time. I could not find an answer to this question so far.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Currently software won't allow the 8GB to work however the absolute max the curve will support is 32GB

Are there 32GB Micro SD cards yet, I had thought 16GB was the biggest to date

Damn..I wish I got the 32GB card - I didn't know they existed yet. As long as you have a 4.5.x.x OS installed, your Curve can support the high capacity cards. I'm typing this on my Curve with a 16GB installed . Enjoy!

Chris

P.S. Definitely buy the biggest card you can afford. You'd be suprised at how quickly they fill up.

The only micro sd on there is 16GB. The 32 is an SD card based on the picture and text. Also the prior comments on that page imply it was written a year ago and the 32 was not released in April as it said.
