Anyone else on here work for a large company that won't add a personal BB onto their system?

I figured mine wouldn't have an issue with it as a well-liked servant in good-standing. Inquired with IT....request denied.

So to stay in after-hours touch with my boss/department, I have to forward my Outlook at work to GMail via my BB....

There is some new network security standard coming out which excludes all personal devices from company networks. Our company locked the devices down so tight they are hardly usable. No 3rd party apps, no MDS etc...

Thanks...now I won't take it personally.

Of course, I won't tip off my boss that our recent improved communication is because I was "enterprising" enough to forward my work email to my BB...I basically just read my forwards on my BB and then log in to my company's webmail site to access my (already-read via forwardings) work email.

Just my interim price to pay for not achieving high-level executive-status yet.

Yeah, don't take it personally. Would you expect them to provide IT services for your personal PC? Nightmare from an IT jock's point of view.

IT sure is paranoid. I respect the whole CYA aspect and all, but still....

I understand security issues - but from a "sheeze, c'mon guys" standpoint...I mean, if I were to get canned for whatever reason, I think they could handle my Enterprise access to their servers quickly and accordingly, yanno?
