Default Instant Messaging as text to people phone??

Please Login to Remove!

I normally use AIM to chat with people who dont have a AIM screen name. I would just type +1(area code phone#) and add my text and click send and chat. I try signing on to AIM using my BB which works fine when i chat with my buddies on my list but when i try IMing to a phone i get this message... (System Msg: User is not logged in.)

Is the a way to use Instant Messaging to work with IMing phones? Does anyone know of any other IMing system that allows you to text or IMing to people phones?

First, why don't you just send a text message to that user?

Second, in JiveTalk, I have a couple users entered by their SMS number.

for some reason this doesnt work the way you'd think on BB. What you need to do first is, add the phone number to your buddy list on an actual computer, then log into your BB AIM, now that number should be available to send.

Wink

Another option would be to send an outgoing email that will be received as an SMS:
