I recently purchased a Blackberry Curve 2 8310 and had a Palm Treo 650. I cannot seem to get my Contacts information (including the "notes") transferred to Microsoft Outlook to be transferred to my new Blackberry. Is it true that the Palm Treo Contacts information does not transfer to the Blackberry Curve in an organized fashion "123-456-7890" including the "notes" I have only received the numbers 1234567890 (numbers difficult to read without the dashes) and no "notes" transferred. AT& T tells me the notes cannot be transferred. Please help, GFR

You really need to transfer from the Palm to Outlook first. Once you have the contacts in Outlook, they'll transfer very nicely formatted to your BlackBerry. You should probably ask in a TREO forum about how to sync from TREO to Outlook.

Try exporting all of the contact data from your Palm device to a .CSV (comma-separated values) file. Once you have all of the raw data in a .CSV file you should be able to import it all to Outlook by mapping each of the fields manually.

I just HotSynced my Treo 650 to my laptop (where I use Microsoft Outlook). Then I synced my BB. Worked for the calendar, contacts, notes and to-do list.

For what it's worth, here's what I did, to get my Outlook contacts from my Treo 700w to my new BlkBry Curve.

My Treo is a state-owned phone, used for government work. I purchased the BlackBerry for my own use. With 1,100 contacts, I didn't want to transfer them individually. Fyi, I run WIndows XP with Outlook 2003 on a Dell Dimension PC.

Like other posts I've read, the BB Desktop Manager didn't work, at least initially. I had even plugged both my Treo and BB into the PC via 2 USBs. Things finally worked once I had done the following:
1. Downloaded the Treo 700w ActiveSync software for free from Microsoft, to my home PC. This was my "duh" moment - my PC couldn't "read" my Treo until it had the ActiveSync software to do so;
2. Used the USB cable to sync my Treo contacts into my PC's Outlook;
3. Once that was done, I went into the BB desktop manager and clicked Synchronize, then the Configuration tab.
4. I synced my Contacts, of course, to avoid the manual labor, and also selected Calendar. You've got several other choices for syncing here.
5. Bingo - Once I selected "Synchronize Now" I watched as all my contacts were transferred.

All in all, about an hour's time. Not bad, considering the alternative, though this seems like it could have been much easier.[/list]

Use PocketCopy by Chapura (company name). It cost $24.99 and took less than minute to transfer everything from my Palm 700p to my BB Storm 9530.
