Default Bluetooth with non Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8300 and it is not connecting via Bluetooth with non Blackberry phones. Anyone else have this issue and how did you rectify this?

Thanks

I don't have any problems connecting to any other bluetooth phone. What are you trying to do?

I'm trying to connect to the non blackberry phone and transfer files etc. It keeps saying failed. Is it because the phone is locked with my provider? I am with Rogers in Canada.

Go to the "Media" section. Hit the menu key and choose "Receive Using Bluetooth" before each transfer.

Did that but was not working......wonder if its because it is blocked on the network or something else.

Ok its not locked with rogers. I don't think any provider locks bluetooth.

What you have to do is:

Make sure you bluetooth is on and is discoverable. Under settings, bluetooth, pair your phone with the non BB phone. Once that's done good.

Next you:

Go into media click the menu button, choose explore, go to the file you want. Highlight it hit menu, then choose either send thru bluetooth (to send a file to the other phone) or receiving thru bluetooth (to get a file from another phone)

If this doesn't work then your device may be defective

If you are transferring to device memory then there is a file size limit of 2.86Mb. If you are transferring to the media card then there is no file size limit.

Post Contact address from SEK800i to BBP8100

Receiving and sending photos via bluetooth works with my BB. However, I can't receive contact address from my old SEk80Oi to my BBP. What do you think do I need to do? Your help would greatly be appreciated.
