Default New Curve 8310

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all

I have a Pearl right now, and have for the last year or so. It's been excellent, but I need a larger screen, so I've got a Curve that is just charging beside me as I type!

Anyway, I've tried to install the CD for desktop software that came with the curve. My Lappy runs Vista, and I'm having trouble getting the software on. Is this normal?

I was also hoping that I could plug the pearl in, then use the swap device feature to swap details over. Will the pearl talk to the desktop software from the curve OK?

cheers all

The Desktop software is always the same. you only have to install the device software fitting your curve firmware (only if you want to install apps). Maybe you have to remove vendor.xml from c:\program files\common files\...

If you do a search there is something you have to do to get it to work, like log on as the admin or something like that.

Thanks all

I ended up using a desktop with XP in the office. All sorted now!

The Curve 8310- seems just a little bit slower to respond than my Pearl. Maybe because I'm opening stuff for the first time. Who knows?

The full keyboard is taking some getting used to! Suretype and a large screen would have been sweet!

cheers
