Question Where was your 8310 built?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a titanium 8310 made in Mexico. Was with a friend of mine who just got an 8310 and it was literally 30-40% LIGHTER. YEs, it was that noticeable. His was made in Hungary.

Also, i had about 3 different 8310's in the last month and not one of them had the same screen contrast. I noticed a big difference in the envelope icon for message. One was gold and my current one is a very light yellow.

Drop your comments with where your 8310 was made and any qualities you like/dislike and lets see if we can catch a trend.

When I upgraded to BlackBerry, I was hoping to get a device made somewhere other then Mexico. I was wrong. Mine is also made in Mexico, just like my old Motorola, Nokia, and all the other cell phones I have had. Have you noticed a difference in quality with the devices you have owned? How are we supposed to spend our money in the USA, when there isn't anything made here anymore?

It's all about cost. We enjoy cheap consumer electronics because of the low cost to produce in countries where the manufacturing overhead is lower.

My device was made in Mexico, and the quality has been great- no dust, solidly built, and great screen colors! (You can find the manufacturing country on the information sticker when you pull the battery).

Made in Canada here too. No real complaints, but my side panels are a little flimsy. No dust under the screen and my contrast seems pretty bright.

Mine's made in Mexico also, had it two months and only real "complaint" if you can call it that is - the trackball seems looser and a noticeably less "smooth" than the one in the 8800 I was using before - I've been wondering if I can snap the trackballs out and exchange them - anyone know?

One trend I see here is - 3 8300's reported made in Canada, but no 8310's so far.

Weird - Made in Canada yet I'm only 200 miles from the Mexican border.
