Question A2dp

Please Login to Remove!

has anyone came up with a patch or anything for the 8320. when i had the 8300 there was a patch to get it to work on this forum. what i mean getting it to work with the stereo headset that comes with your blackberry. i talked with a rep from rim and he said they removed it from the 8300 models for safety reasons. it's hard to hear my phone ring when i ride my bike now; i loved it when i pluged my headset into my blackberry and i was the only person that can hear it ring. he told me if enough people email or call in and complain they would probly release a patch. i hope im posting in the right spot.

A little bit of confusion here. Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) is used with Bluetooth (wireless) connections. Are you referring to a wired or wireless connection?

Second, are you looking to have the ringer audio play through your headset?

it also makes a wired stero headsets work right too.it use to be a patch for the 8300 but i dont know if it would work with the 8320. yes i want the ringer audio to play through my headset. there was a tread a while back when a lot of people was trying to get their phones to ring only through their headsets.thats what im trying to get back; when im somewhere or riding my bike and there is a lot of noise i want to hear my phone ring in my ears with my wired stero headsets. if i wear my bluetooth headset while riding my bike its going to blow off everytime. if im stating the name wrong correct me; i just want back what rim took away.

That is incorrect A2DP is a Bluetooth profile, that allows for stereo signal over wireless. It has no effect on wired stereo audio.

I have looked for this before, and found no information about getting the ringer audio on the headset. If there was a patch it was not documented.

I did a search lots of times for this; and still will keep searching. If anyone finds a way to fix this please post it. I do remember the patch coming from the 8700 software. Its been so long ago It I might have seen on another forum. But I'm here now.

There was never a way to do this that I'm aware of.

I had read that setting a phone to quiet, and having a headset connected would "force" the ringer to play over the headset. This is the most realistic (and untrue) method I have heard.

im going to call rim and ask them the name of the folders they removed. im dumb when it comes to the technical part of the blackberry. i do remember loading my 8300 os into the device manager along with the patch. and i deleted some folders from the 8300 os and replaced them with the folders in the patch. i do know the patch was from an older 8700 os. i wish i would have saved that patch. i cant remember what forum i got it off of. it had directions how to do the whole process. i have the 8320 and really want this feature back.
