hi i notice my bb messenger it starting to freeze and i get an error message saying out of bounds, and then if im writing someone it will show only half of what i wrote then freeze and give me the error.
anybody no what that is and how to stop it??

Sounds like you're having the same issue I'm having with my 8130. What OS do you have on your device? Does a hard reboot fix it (at least for a while)?

I am guessing that you have a long history in your converstaion log. Clear the conversation and start fresh (yes you will lose the history) but I am guessing it will solve your issue. When the conversation log gets long the device struggles with memory.

Juwaack's suggestion may work as well.

yeah i did have a long convo log, ok i will try that, i also have the new os that john clark posted and he fixed my problem before so i dont think the prob is with the OS. Ima try to clear the log, thanks guys!

ok so i cleared all the convo logs, and pulled out the battery but im still having the problem. someone at crackberry said to go to options and wipe the device, but if there is another way somebody please tell me...

also i downloaded the soft reset, and i did a battery pull again but that didnt help. whats a hard reset by the way?

Yikes, a wipe will remove all of your data...... that would not be my recommended resolution - yet.

A hard reset involves removing the battery while the device is on (for 20-30 seconds) then putting it back in.

ooh ok yeah so i did a hard reset already, and yeah i dont want to wipe the device either, maybe i will see if it contines to happens for the next few days

You might want to check your memory. Menu>Options>Status if your memory (File Free) is less that 12,000,000 (that's million with six zeros). You may want to check this link:

What version operating system (OS) do you have installed? Click on Options -> About, and the 3rd line down should start with v4.......

I'm just curious since I am having lots of issues with my device with version 4.3.0.71 (Sprint 8130 Pearl). I've had the lockups and errors that you're reporting and I think it's a 4.3 thing.

I've even received a replacement device and it's still happening...and this is with 16M+ free memory.

i have a lot of space left on the device and the media card, im actually gonna buy a 4gig card today. my os is 4.2.2, its the one John Clark posted, and i did follow his steps to free up space. it was working perfectly since then, but my bb messenger has been doing this freezing and error messge for like 2 days now

Anything new on this topic? I find BB Messenger also freezing at times. It may be due to a long conversation, but I'm not convinced that is always it. I usually have 14-16 meg of memory when it occurs.
