i tried reinstalling the os but it never gets past the second part when its tryin to reconnecting jvm. after it finishes that it says unable to reconnect to device during multi-stage connection or something like that. i used this guide
Advanced Force Reload Of O/S On Blackberry
Thanks to Docdrilla for this portion of the walkthrough!
Problem: When trying to re-install an operating system that constantly intializes, Desktop Manager will not recognize the device.
Solution: The following walkthough!
FYI this will work for any handheld that constantly initializes.. aka the hourglass of doom.
1. Install the desktop software.
2. Install the handheld software. (If it is a non Vendor software.. exp. T-Mobile. search and delete the "vendor.xml" file.)
3. Pull the battery out of your device.
4. With the battery out connect the device to the computer.
5. Go to Options and select "connection settings"
6. Select USB PIN this may take a few moments since there is no battery in the device. you might even have to select detect device in some rare cases.
7. Select the application loader icon.
8. Select all software you want installed.
9. Proceed to the end portion untill you see the "Finish" button.
10. Very IMPORTANT. do not hit the finish button, instead select the ADVANCED button.
11. Make sure both boxes are checked.
12. Proceed until it asks you if you want to automatically back up and restore. Select DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY BACK UP MY HANDHELD.
13. Once the process starts. take care not to bump out the cordand re-insert the battery. Again on some rare occasions you might have to wait until it finishes saying connect to insert the battery.
and i also tried javaloader -usb wipe but i get an error opening port
same with JL_CMDR. also i used loader.exe /nojvm that didnt work either.
when i connect the blackberry to the usb it makes the sound that says its connected then disconnected then connected with the battery out, if the batter is in and its plugged into the usb the usb toggles on and off when the phone toggles from hourglass to red light
please if someone knows how to fix the problem please help me
try DM 4.3 with the batterry out. i had better results with that.
that didn't work same thing happened
Sounds dead to me! Did it get dropped or wet?
If not go and see if they will help under warranty
Check out with your vendor, don't try your luck with small tips its looks some serious issue!!
it didn't get dropped or wet, so i guess im going to have to buy a new one=(
all i can think of is when i was walking onto the plan it lost signal or somethin and messed up the update which killed my blackberry
i think you can still save it - JUST please pay attention to the timing portion on your PC; i got this walkthrough off CrackBerry that i find to be effective; click this!
Also make sure your data cable is connected to the computer's usb port and not a usb hub.
Fixing JVM ERRORS
I have had this problem on many of my bb. I break em often (n) the 7130e and the 8703e.
I have talked with uscellular and RIM finally has fixed the problem. Follow the directions below and I hope it works for your network!! Rim says it is an easy fix that was never discovered until now!
Turn on your phone and quickly scroll down to " Turn wireless off" or " Turn radio off". This has to be completed quickly before the phone connects to the network that you are using.
Then go into your your BB browser (the globe on the screen for most).
Then all you need to do is DELETE BROWSER CHANNELS. (Expand the section and then delete the channels)
If this does not work you will need to back up your blackberry and then reload the software from RIM website using your usb cable and directions below.
The Following are the instructions for uscellular customers that they emailed me. Very complex and a pain in the ass but it is listed below
How to correct a 523 error, and create a log file to submit to rim.
> To get the log file.
> - Please go the following link: ftp://dsvisitor:Fusion@ftp2.rim.net/
> - Proceed to the Utilities Link folder, and download the Javaloader Program (you
must Save to Desktop)
> - When installing the program, please change the install directory to > "> C:\ >
> - When Javaloader is finished installing, please shut down Desktop Manager (if
> - Go to Start then> Run > -> Type CMD then hit enter or OK
> - From the Black Windows (Command Prompt Window) please type > "> CD\ > ">
> - Now your computer should be displaying > "> C:\ > ">
> - Please do the following command > "> javaloader -u eventlog > C:\bblog.txt > ">
> - Please do the following command as well > "> Javaloader -u dir >
C:\applist.txt > ">
> Once you have it call rim and Email the logs created to after
speaking with a REP so they can do with it what they do.
> Assuming this has been done, you will then download and install the handheld
software (uscc dl page)
> I know this is has been put out there already but here it is again:
> Install both desktop manager, and the newly download handheld software
> - Restart your PC, with the battery out the back of the handheld and cable unplugged
> - Start desktop manager
> - Run the application loader software
> - During the connection screen, please plug in your device (keeping the battery out)
> - Choose the USB *XXXXXXX* or USB > "> Unknown> ">
> - Do no choose any additional applications for install
> - Click (Next, then Finish)
> - Handheld will be restarting, and installing the applications
I had the same thing happen to my 8300 cuve, turns out it was the micro SD card I had in there.
pulled the card, put the battery in, worked fine, was able to update.
Wierd thing was, I put the card into the adapter on the PC, copied the files off, formatted it, and then put it into the curve and it worked fine. I formatted it via the utility on the device just to be sure, and it's been fine since.
I had the exact same problem with my 8100, the reason why I have an 8310 now. Its so frustrating when all resources are exhausted and the problem persists. I asked for a warrenty exchange from t-mobile, but they insisted i speak with an actual blackberry tech rep first. The tech helped me out in every way, but finally gave up after 3.5 hours. He gave t-mo the blessing to go ahead and do the replacement. Got the new phone by mail, sold it, and bought an unlocked 8310. at least i have gps now. ha.
Oh, my desktop manager never once recognized the device as being connected. All this while everything was checked and double checked for proper connection.
Does the above procedure wipe all your information
