Default No Camera?

Please Login to Remove!

I use Verizon for my house hold purpose (internet, cell ph, TV and landline) to make billing simple. I never owned a smartphone such BB, Treo or Q. I need one of them since I'm hearing impaired w/ little hearing residual so that I can use the relay caption services w/ convience and out in the field job for accessing emails plus ease of texting. A comparison between BB-8830 & T-755p is a tough choice to pick. I like the features between the two but neither one is acceptable. I need hearing aid compatible (HAC) of M4/T4 rating which the BB has but lacked a camera and the Treo is the opposite which has HAC rating of M3/T3 but has camera. It's important that the smartphone must have the highest HAC rating for those who wears hearing aids and heard from numerous of people hated these smartphones because they are short and having trouble speaking and hearing. Anyway, why is it that Verizon 8830 does not have the camera and similar BB version at ATT's version has camera? I was told that CDMA carrier is far superior for HAC than ATT's GSA (?) Any suggestions or opinions?

Cheers!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8100: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

The 88xx series of BlackBerrys don't come with cameras. The 8820 and 8800 don't have cameras on AT&T, which are the GSM equivalent of the 8830 device. If you want a camera on a BlackBerry with Verizon you can go with the 8130.

there are no other BBs out there besides the 88xx series rated for T4 hearing aids. All others (current production of course) are rated at T3

Thanks fellas! 8130 might be my best bet...although I prefer larger keypad.

Can you confirm for me that ALL the 88xx models are M4/T4 rated? I tried researching here and on BB.com, but the only verification I can find is for the 8830, which is not going to work for me since I have to use AT+T through work. I can go with the 8820, but would like confirmation of the HAC. I'm an old phat phart in the Dallas, TX area just getting ready to venture into the BB world.....

That's not correct. The 8830, 8703e and 7250 are rated M4/T4. The 8130 is rated M3/T3.

You can compare devices here:

According to BlackBerry.com the only 88xx device with a M4/T4 rating is the 8830:

The 8310, 8320 and 8705 are M3/T3 rated (according to blackberry.com). With a GSM device I suspect this is the best you'll get.
