Just a note, but I did install this version, it updated some of the core components and I was able to install for the first time Russian and Hebrew input supports.

Noticing anything else good or bad about it? What OS did you upgrade from?

I upgraded from Singapore Telecom's version. So far did not see anything else interesting, what I want to test the most is Bluetooth and UMA - for me they don't work together, phone either lock up or looses connection or looses headset.

Anything different from what? 4.2.2.184 has been out for quite some time. This particular version just has different languages in it.

I haven't had a chance yet, been working too much. Maybe next week if I can, you know how it goes - sometimes our hobbies have to take a back burner to making the $$$ to pay the rent/mortgage.

I finally got around to upgrading yesterday (.180 T-Mobile -> .184 Orange France) and it went swimmingly well, probably one of the more smooth upgrades I've done on a BB. I did make sure to remove the exact same unwanted modules manually (the thread about deleting/moving the Media files, VAD files, etc. to save space) as I had in .180 so that the upgrade would "see" the same setup as I had before, and no problems ensued - it just worked nicely.

I definitely notice that my Wifi connections are faster to establish and seem more robust (less prone to conking out after idle a bit) than the older .180 firmware.

rivviepop, what's your router and your wireless security type? I really want to have 184 but I couldn't get the one I downloaded off the sticky to work. Let me try this and probably try out other things; I have wireless MAC filtering enabled and nothing else but 184 just doesn't work, I've tried three times already. I can't be soo lucky.

I run a basic out-of-the-box DD-WRT v2.3 SP2 firmware on a Linksys WRT54G v4, trivial 128bit WEP protected (I would run open, but some a** downloaded movies on my connection - I've had the same static IP since 1995 - so had to lock it up). I don't use UMA so don't have the special tuning params or anything configured, just the defaults. It just... works.

128bit WEP... hmmm. Let me try to unlock the wireless MAC filtering on mine and see if it works. Thanks for the idea. Still searching for a WRT54G v1 to v4 so I could load some dd-wrt, too.

I just have the modest WRT54GCv2. I will try 184 again later tonight.

It won't work on the 8330. You must get software for the 8330. Here's the latest official version for the 8330 which is 4.5.0.77.
