I'm using a Curve (Cingular). Is there a character that I can enter after a phone number so that I can enter a comment that would not be dialed. For example:
214-999-1234 Dallas
Currently the phone is treating "Dallas" as an extension and dialing 16 digits. I know that you can do an edit after the phone number by hitting the track ball and add a pause or add a wait, but neither of these solved my issue. I've tried using comma, #, and a space in between the number and the comment but it still treats the comment like an extension. Cingular online help sent me to call Cingular and they couldn't figure it out either. Any help would be appreciated.
There is not, the BB will dial the characters in phone number fields, because, after all, it is a phone number field. If you need to put a City descriptor, there is a place for that.
I am assuming you are trying to put a lot of common numbers under one address book entry. It may make sense to your, but I bet if you entered different address book entries it would begin to be more useful over time as it was intended to work.
add a * then hold alt and press letters. the blackberry will convert those to numbers at first, but then it will show them as letters once the call connects. it doesnt seem to dial these numbers
