How can I put Vibrate mode on w/o having to go through menu-profile...?

I've been wondering how to do the same thing... for some reason I don't think its possible...

try going to options, screen/keyboard,then convenience key

if you turn of dialing from home screen

you can then use shortcuts, you hit F (proFiles) and hits V (Vribrate) then hit space to select

do the same to turn back to your normal setting

How do I turn off dialing from the home screen?

Does anybody know if there is an update to this for 4.5? I have an 8310 with 4.5.0.110 and am looking for a shortcut like I used on my 8100 Pearl: hold '#' key to toggle Vibrate profile.

Basically all of the responses I've seen are like above, assign a shortcut key or disable dial-from-home, which I'd prefer to avoid. I've also seen a reference to 8700-like behavior which would use the Mute button to toggle Vibrate profile, but on my phone this enters Standby mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nope. Those are your options.

So since the consensus seems to say that there is NO shortcut on the keyboard for holding-to-achieve Vibrate profile on the 8330 Curve, as the 8900 Curve fixed this? My bud's Bold does this by holding down the # same as the Pearl, though it's in a different place.

Just curious; any 8900 users know?

Yes this works on the 8900 just like the Pearl: hold # to toggle vibrate profile. It's actually listed in the Speed Dial list, so presumably you could assign this to other keys as well.

click on the speaker icon (top right corner). That opens up the choices of vibrate, loud, etc
