Unhappy Device randomly loosing data

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there,

Before I start, I will mention that we have a BES / Exchange setup in house. Now to begin!

In the past weeks, I have had two of my users complain of random data loss on their 8310 devices. On one device, the user appears to have lost random chunks of email between the first and last emails received (email in his Exchange inbox is all still there). With the other user, the device dropped all emails older than two hours. Previously, this same user had complained that his wireless would keep turning itself off at random times.

I spoke to our network providers Blackberry tech guys (Vodafone UK) , and they suggested that it is either a corruption of the Blackberry software (currently running the latest version avaible to vodafone clients), or a hardware memory corruption on the device itself. Their suggestion has been to wipe and re-activate the device, or arrange a replacement device.

I'm curious to know if anyone has experienced similar problems with the 8310, or whether anyone has some suggested causes other than those I have listed above.

Regards
