Default 8310 on t-mobile telenav question....

Please Login to Remove!

I've tried to do a thread search with no luck, don't know if it's been discussed previously but here it goes...

Are any of you 8310 users that's covered under t-mobile having any success with telenav? I called their customer care this morning and they said that they don't support unlocked phones for use under a different carrier other than whom the device was intended for initially. Is this true? I like google maps, but wanted the turn-by-turn audio of telenav. If this is true, i have a new, unlocked 8310 for sale

telenav will work, just make sure you have the APN settings correct under the TCP menu. once you have those set you shouldnt have an issue. I have a TeleNav demo account linked to my Tmo SIM and it works fine when i put it in my 8310.

TeleNav GPS Navigator - T-Mobile FAQ's
keep in mind you dont need the extra hardware like it says in the faq because you are using a phone with integrated GPS

Hi all,

i'm having trouble with setting up my telenav on my unlocked 8310 for tmobile. i went to the telenav website and purchased the plan, then followed the instructions they provided online. i went to TeleNav and downloaded the telenav software to my phone, but when i run the telenav program it asks me to enter my phone number and pin, but the field box to enter my phone number it doesn't allow me to enter any numbers...as in i can't type anything in that box --- i can only enter my pin. then if i try to continue, it says i must enter a phone number.

anyone have any experience with this???

thanks!

IIRC the current version of Telenav automatically pulls your number (I'm not sure from where). If you hit the green button is your phone number listed at the top of the screen?
